Forecast was for nice warm weather today. I decided yesterday I was going to hit a local park to search two grassy areas I hadn’t hit before. I decided that would be better than going to the 1860 farm since we had almost an inch of rain yesterday and the farm usually gets saturated with more than half an inch. My wife reminded me that other folks probably had the same idea about going to the park since the day would be so nice. So, last minute I decided to go to the farm. The ground wasn’t as wet as I expected. I started in the old pasture and worked my way down to the pond. Then back up to the barns. Then down to the creek which was over its banks as expected. Didn’t find too much, a few pieces of iron, a drawer pull, a domed piece of something, and what I thought at first might be a small Ox knob. I’ve since changed my mind on that. It’s too small and thin for that, I think.

I decided to go across the street and continue removing trash around the farmhouse in the hope I might find some older pieces from the early days of the farm. Found bottle caps, aluminum trash, a 1966 Memorial, and my sweetest find of the day! A Leslie-Henry / Gene Autry 44 cap gun, or what’s left of it anyway. Near as I can tell, these toys were sold in the 1950’s.

Some pics of the area of the farm west of the road.

Looking toward the second house on the property. It's no longer there as far as I can tell. The farther I get up the slope the thicker the underbrush gets. Going to fly the drone over and see if I can spot a foundation.

Neat finds. That toy gun is cool. How big is the domed thing? Maybe it's a back cover to a pocket watch?

Nickel size.

Nice looking creek I’d be in there looking for points. Good finds

Hmm.. That would be a pretty small watch. Locket, maybe?
Maybe. I was wondering if it was what's left of an iron back button.
