Today's Finds at Old Fairgrounds

These are my finds today at a local fairgrounds that closed around 1938 in Southern Illinois. It is now a school playground.

Nice to know that you can still sift through the clutter and find the good stuff!
Way to go!!! You must have dug a lot of pull tabs in order to find the treasure.
Makes it all worth it.

Dug a lot of new pennies. This is now a middle school playground, so I believe that is why there are not many pull tabs. No soda machines around. Yeah

Going to ask permission to detect the church lot next to playground. If my info is correct the church lot was more to the center of fairgrounds next to race tracks. Most of the area is now home subdivisions.

Some great old silver there!Looks like a little research has paid off.A site like that should produce many more old coins and relics.All the fairgrounds that I've hunted are still in use today and it's tough to pull the old coins from the blanket of pulltabs and the like but they're still there to be found.Best of luck to you on future hunts.
