Valens

Hi. Emperor Valens. Legend D N VALENS P F AVG. Reverse Type 42. GLORIA ROMANORUM
Emperor advancing right, dragging captive and holding labarum or other type of standard.

Valens

There has been a wrong ID for Victorbg’s very nice AE3 Dragging Captive coin. The actual coin is a Valentinian I not a Valens:

It is a first period (25 Feb AD364 to 24 Aug AD375) coin with a mint mark of •ΓSISCA (Siscia type ii).RIC Vol IX SS 5(a) with

Obv: DN VALENTINI-ANVS PF AV[G] - Pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: GLORIA RO-MANORVM – Emperor advancing right, with right hand dragging captive and holding Labarum in left.
Exergue: •ΓSISCA

i was close
the mintmark on my picture isnt the same

Wow, and to think I fell in love with a 1946 Walker!

That's an old coin, very cool.
