We returned to the old plantation today for a quick hunt before the rain. It wasn’t a spectacular day but we found a couple of decent things. My buddy found his first coin. An 1801 draped bust copper. It doesn’t look like it in the picture, but it’s in decent shape and the green toning on it is beautiful.

I managed to find a 1911 wheat penny and what I hope is a silver ring. It rang in as 29 on my equinox, which is in the silver range. I wish the stone was still in it. The outside where the stone went is circular, while the inside is cut square. I’ll do some research on it to see if I can determine an age. This thing is big and heavy. Whoever wore this had gorilla hands. It also has what I believe are leaf engravings all the way around it.
