Today's Silver

Went back to the same spot and found a 1957 Rosie and a silver cross. Looks like the lawn mover man got it. Also found 6 wheat cent a 1917 & 1935s the rest are 40's &50's. the big button is Army I think . Does anyone know what the OAC means? looks like a hat emblem it has threads on the back of it. Re: Today's Silver

That looks like a hot spot for relics and coins (I like the Snoopy the best ;D) You could crazy glue the cross..sometimes I do that to my collectible diecast that fall apart as I dig them up.

Someone will ID that piece, I don't know what it is, but it's old.

HH,
NAt

Re: Today's Silver

Possibly "Oregon Agricultural College" Which is now Oregon State University. Just a wild guess but it might fit. I'm not sure how you could verify it though. Maybe someone else will know more.

"Oregon Agricultural College

In 1890 the college became known as Oregon Agricultural College (OAC). Orange was adopted as the school color, with black as the background. The Olmsted Brothers developed the first Campus Master Plan in 1909, emphasizing trees and an architectural harmony showcasing basic classical forms in brick. The current campus stays mostly integrated to this original plan, laid on a grid of wide, tree-lined streets with the well-spaced buildings highlighted by open lawns and tall, clustered trees.[citation needed]

The Division of College Extension was organized in 1911 with Ralph Dorn Hetzel as director and, in 1912, the first off-campus faculty were placed in Marion and Wallowa counties. The Army ROTC became active in 1917, replacing the original Cadet Corps formed by students studying Military Science. In 1919, OAC began a horticultural products processing program, the first of its kind in the United States. Accreditation was granted in 1924 by the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools."
