i got $50 in halves today and got nothing, but i asked the banks if they could order me $500 boxes. One bank in my area said they can order it, but i would have to pay their fee of $4. do you guys think it's worth it? if i find just 1 40% it'll pay the fee

Find another bank that will accommodate your needs..

I would never pay fees unless it was the very last bank around...

Look around to others

Paying fees is bad mmmmkay? 1 40% may pay for it, but chances are, you will go through 10 skunks before finding a 40%. Then would, 1 40% pay for them?

I would first ask nicely if there is anyway they could wave the fee. Then I would do it. You got to test the waters and see if the fee is worth it.

find another bank I have never paided a fee to get boxes of coins

I have never paid a fee either. But if it is yr only option, or you don't want to wait to find another bank right way, then do it for now.

Order one and check their boxes. If it is great, try another one, if it is pretty bad, find another bank.

It should be free.

try it to test the waters... 10x 40% and its golden...

Do you have an account there? I think some banks will order coins for people with no accounts, but make them pay the fee. But members might/probably get the fee waived.

Try another bank or a different branch (I assume this was your main bank?)

DON"T PAY A FEE! DON"T PAY A FEE!! Become an account holder at another bank that will not charge you a fee, and make the first bank a dump bank by depositing to your account.

i actually haven't been back to that bank for a while. i've been getting boxes of pennies and nickels at some other banks, and i think they'll order me halves without a fee
