Our last Wednesday off before Christmas break… so off we went! Very frosty again, but no fog. Back in a different corner of the same field near the river. Well the beeps did not stop, lots of tiny lead had but in amongst an amazing assortment, I got a crusty coin and a gorgeous little hammered, (no I’d yet)…. plus a lead weight, part of a ring, musket balls, buttons and other bits and bobs.

Curious about the thing I’ve put the red dot above, we find a few of these all different sizes?

Took some winter pics to get you in the Christmas spirit 😍 we live in such a beautiful area, I love seeing it in every season. Also took a pic of the Ridge and furrow field as the afternoon sun caught it beautifully I thought. Xx

Looks like you got yourself your first Roman ring....:icon_thumleft: Congrats, you're coming closer! Way more interesting than the cloth hanger!
Thanks for the pics, it's always great to look at them!
Roman Ring you say ….. wow! You have blown my mind 😂 ……. Thank you so much xx

Beautiful pics! Congratulations on the finds and good luck on the ID. And I see you’ve been informed that you found a Roman ring. Wow! Way to go!
Ah thank you…. 💕 xxx

i Think the hammered is Elizabeth 1st, 1582-1600 half groat…? . 🤔 xx

X = Georgian cloth/coat hanger.
Nicely done on the 1/2 Groat :hello2:

Ahh thanks Peps xx the 1st item is 6cm across… it was certainly chilly, but also gorgeous! xx

Yes I believe you are correct in the hammered being an Elizabeth I. At least that is what I can tell from my Coins of the Realm poster.

Really nice photos and the finds are an extra touch. :icon_thumleft:

What a clever shot with the shovel handle...and the Hansel/Gretel looking house captures that winter, Christmas feeling...

You were busy digging all sorts of things...

And you found a hammered coin... I'm sure Cru' has identified it already...

Congratulations 👍

Congratulations on these findings and thanks for the photos, meke me smell the Christmas spirit.

Keep diging 👍🏽😎

Always enjoy your post. Funny you seem to find some hammered coins almost every time. That would be a find of a life time here.Your country is beautiful.Love the pics

Just incredible. All of it.

I know about as much about relics there as I do rocket science. Which is little.

Your X above the straight thingy is above an abject not unlike some spoon handles.
And it resembles some pipe /tobacco tampers.
For more fun why not use it on a wax seal too? L.o.l.
