Tonight's finds at a 1850's circ. house.

Did a quick search at a friends house (Extraction32) tonight. Found 1900 indian head cent, 1955 wheat, harmonica and a button.

That harmonica might have some value to it, even in dug condition. I don't know how much you know about Sousa...but perhaps someone else on here can come up with more info about the find itself. For all I know it could've been a promotional item. I know that Sousa's band was extremely busy keeping up with demand for wax cylinder recordings in the early recording days. They had to place the cylinder machines around the band (5 or 6 of 'em at a time) and let the band play a march. Then they'd collect the recorded cylinders, load new ones, and do it again. And so it went... so odds are if you own two cylinders of the same piece, they're different performances. Kinda cool

I'm not saying that the harmonica belonged to anyone in the band or anything like that...but the recording industry and publicity associated with it were good for 'old John Phillip and his march tunes.
