A trivet generally has legs or feet and a handle, also, the top where you'd set an iron or pot, would be flat. Let's see a shot of the back and thickness.

Have it figured out. It called steel portrait plate. Only reason I may have thought a trivet is there is same stamp on George Washington trivet. The one I found is made of brass.

Both sides are the same? Do you have a link or something? How did you make the ID? The steel plate is actually brass? Does that mean the original pattern was steel but cast in brass? Just curious. Thanks

I guess the backside is looking opposite. Did you notice the asking price is $1,425? Is yours worth more or less being that its brass? Were you able to date it? This appears to be a nice metal detecting find, maybe banner, if we knew more about it. Did you find another known example in brass? Did you post in Todays Finds? Am i the only person interested lol?
