Yeah, you were too close to the nest Muddy Feet and the bird is luring you away. We had Killdeers in Oklahoma. The nest doesn't consist of much but blends in very well with the ground. The eggs are very large as the chicks are born with legs almost longer than their bodies, and they're able to run as soon as they hatch out. Pretty pics!

Great pic's, she is giving the 'old i'me cripple chase me trick', to get you away from the nest, I drove around one on the riding mower for weeks only to have a severe storm demolish it.
