For some reason I am hitting an over abundance of clad cameos. Within the last 2 weeks I have handled at least 45 from three different sources. Varied dates. Both in cwr and boxes. But, on a nice note, I did cull one silver 2009-S. I must admit I do love those 90% cameos.

I now have three complete sets of clad cameo sets from 1971-2009. One for each my children.

apush, sent them to the east, I love finding them cameos in circulation :)

I got 2 cameos myself this week out of 4 boxes, a 2005-S and 2006-S, odd enough, I am finding cameos to be more rare than silver.

Greetings to you Apush , nice to see you pop up on the new site ! A teller friend gave me a real beauty yesterday
a 1990-S it looks really frosty - the matte finish over the mirror polished background is a good look . I'm finding
a lot of these lately as well - when you consider that all of these have been removed from proof sets , it highlights
the desperate financial straits many are in. Have a wonderful Easter weekend ! Argentium.

I think I threw back 10-12 of them last week. They are everywhere.

There was a recent article about how dealers just can't sell the common clad proof sets of the 1970's and 1980's. It was stated that the bid price (what a dealer will offer to a seller) on many of these common proof sets has fallen below face. With this being the case it is more advantageous to just spend them. Perhaps this is a reason for the increasing appearance of the clad cameos.

In addition to the above it may be possible that dealers are busting out the sets and dumping them into circulation to raise capital for more saleable items.

:hello: Welcome back Apush. It's nice to see you posting again. I find the cameos come in spurts. Some boxes have them & than it takes days & additonal boxes before you find them again. They are also pretty used when I find them. I keep what I need for my collection & release the rest back to the wild for someone else to find for their collection. I haven't found any silver ones yet only clad.
