I spent close to an hour in a tot lot, I had my wot coil and not much time, I spent an hour and picked up 37 quarters, 9 dimes, 7 nickels and only 5 Memorial pennies. The coins were so close together, pinpointing with the wot was next to impossible.
I found a lot of the coins just by snooping around with the x-1.
This is a tot lot covered with wood chips with the coins between 0 and 3 inches deep.

I'll head back in the morning with my sunray 5 inch coil and my Vibra-tector with its small coil.
Hopefully it'll turn up a ring.....I did find a fake (about 5 carats) diamond (glass) ear ring.
Bling (Junque) is welcome (somtimes).

With that many coins, sounds like you're the first to detect there recently. Hope you find good jewelry next outing! Andi

Nope. no jewelry, but I did come up with more coins. There is a large grassy area around the tot lots, I searched them and got good indications of coins, but the ground is tough as cement. I'll have to wait for a rain and then make a return, hopefully at least for some bling and maybe wheatie or two. I tried one at about 4 inches deep, but I think I would have messed up the nicely kept grassy area. And it was unbearably hot!!!!!!!

That's a crazy amount if quarters for the ratio of other coins! I hunted a Jr High once that I would swear they play some kind of quarter toss game. You could pick them up 3 or 4 to a hole.
