I would say it's a tool. Looks like a nice, simple and large, scraper & chopper, that gave up some useable flakes.

Wow. Never knew for sure if a tool or just a rock, looked shaped to me.Is it possible to date something like that?

I did mention likely utilized flakes having come from it, so to a point, yes. But the end product, which he posted the picture of, is now, much more than a core. Your piece looks thicker than his piece and looks to me more like a core. His has more the form of our commonly found thumb, or end scrapers, and resembles a lot of the large crude scrapers I often find.

yes it is knocked into shape, I have also found mini's of mine as well, rounded top, flat base, less than an inch high...Paiute area
