How big is that? It is shaped like a shark tooth.... kinda. I am gonna go with rock though. It lacks the root portion. But I am not a petrified dentist so I could be wrong! ;D

I dont think it is a shark tooth. I have a few petrified sharks teeth but they still look like a sharks tooth. They are black in color and have cracks through them. A friend of mine lived 40 miles form the beach and they doug a canal by his place and he found them in the ground. I would say just a rock.

I have seen many sharks teeth that came from Calvert Cliffs on the Chesapeake Bay. They all had great detail and were not often broken or showing great wear that you picture shows. I vote rock.

I vote for rock...
I have also found quite a few shark teeth and they are a lot 'smoother' than that. Try rubbing it against your own teeth...you should be able to tell right away if it is rock. Might sound funny, but that is what a lot of forensic anthropologists do.

ROCK!! most definitely.

I have many fossilized teeth...shark among them.....normally all have some trace of enamel and more defined shape.
