Topaz , any one ever tumbled?

I have a bought a pound of topaz from 1/2" to 1.5" tumbling , looking for best final mix , for the best clear polished look , need to be gem quality to check for flaws ,
First time really trying to polish gems . Running course at present.

I put them in yesterday , to night I'll take a picture of how it looks when I get home ,

I am interested in how it turns out. They are nice looking rocks, but I am surprised you were able to round them after 2 days. Topaz is hard (8 on the scale).

placergold, topaz is hard however it fractures easily and smooths fairly quickly.

Well I haven't used my rock crusher to try and polish rocks , and had a pound ( aprox ) decided to see how well my rough topaz polish and thought maybe I would get something worth while out of them . I have to say I know I don't have a pound now .
