Found this token today on the only thawed ground close by. Any info on it would be appreciated!

Congrats on a great token...one of a kind, that's awesome. Been through the Black Hills many times...you live in some beautiful country.

The Miedema SD Token book lists 5, 10, 25, 50¢, and $1 tokens from M. C. Hartzer's general merchandise store. Malchi C. Hartzer, 1862-1938, is listed in the 1910-20 Censuses as being in the retail store business, but by 1930 he had retired. He is buried in the Geddes cemetery.

I know the token is in rough shape but does anybody know if it has any value?

The only value it has would be to a collector who is willing to pay for it. Since it wasn't listed there is a chance, HOWEVER, finding collector of tokens from the area might be a hard task.

Love finding tokens almost more than finding old coins! Congrats!

Throw it in a tumbler with a little aquarium gravel, water, and a small amount of dish soap. It will make a big improvement.

Congratz! I love finding tokens too!
