Has anyone ever seen a transparent stamp? Found the these two Lincoln 4cent stamps with some other older stamps. I searched online for transparent stamps and didn't find anything. 20190823_103215.jpg 20190823_103346.jpg

It looks just like early 1950'ish stamps where the adhesive has been removed.

This word “transparent”. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Edit:
Perhaps I should explain my comment. The two 4 cent Lincolns shown look remarkably like some fakes I ran across at a coin shop near Copenhagen several years ago. Looking closer at the images, I think that both the adhesive has completely worn off, and the stamps were submerged in water for some time, giving a “see through” quality to them.

My experiences with stamps is limited, however. I could be wrong on all counts.

Okay thanks. I guess because usually you cant see through the back of the stamp is why I used the term transparent.

I think what you have is stamps that have had some sort of oil on them.
