Trash find was a Treasure!

I cleaned out my truck from this past Saturdays outing. The trash was put in a plastic Walmart bag. Sunday I sorted trough it. I found a disc/glob of metal and as I went to toss it I noticed a bit of pattern so I decide to clean it. It cleaned up nicely and I thought it might be a small pocket watch because of a small piece of crust on the side like a stem. After quite a bit of chipping it popped open to reveal an old snuff box, full of decayed snuff. I believe it is/was gold plated. It is a nice find that almost got away.

Remember to double check your trash so you don,t toss a keeper!

Good job on rechecking your finds, There is no telling what has been thrown out over the Years with people not knowing what they actually had. T-NET and Members have probably saved a ton of relics with the "What is it" forum.
