Traveling by plane with X-cal

What's best way to transfer this machine by air? I see the pig tail connections could get twisted or pulled on pretty bad and the control knobs could get bumped or pressure put on them maybe damaging the seals?

I just wrap mine up in extra clothing and put it in my suitcase.

I work for AA and Carry mine every time I travel, I break it down and pack it in my carry on bag for protection, as bags get thrown around outside on the Ramp, and you don't want to arrive with a broken machine...
That said, I have never had issues going through security, here or International. I travel frequently to South America, never been stopped there either...
