This will be my first time taking my MD through a airport. Wanted to see what your guys experience has taught you. I am thinking of carrying on board with me since you know how your luggage is treated. All input is welcome!!!!

Shouldn't be a problem if you get it into a container/luggage that fits in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

I've taken mine with no problems, it breaks down pretty small.

Don't forget, it counts as one of your two items, and some airlines want to charge you for it along with the extra weight of the tissues in your pocket.

I done both in my checked bags and in my carry on. If you go the carry-on route, be sure to leave the rods in the checked bag so that some jumpy TSA agent doesn't decide they could be a weapon. Probably put the owners manual in with it if they decide to rummage your bag, they can see exactly what it is.

I have taken my detectors on airplanes, both to Hawaii and to Mexico. I've never had any problems. Taken them as both carry-on and in checked luggage. If you check them, make sure they are well-padded. Good Luck!

Hey JFITTZZZ!! I brought mine carry on in the original box and broken down with manuel, from Regan Natl in Washington, DC to Baton Rouge, La, without any problem!! They ran it through the x-ray unit and never even wanted to open the box for a visual!! GOOD LUCK and GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

Thanks for all of the input guys... I have a 3030 padded bag that i just recently bought. Fit in there just right. Going to some land that's close to horseshoe bend!!!!!!! Can't wait...
