Treasure in Dirks Run/Valley near Keating Summit

I was told not long ago , of a buried treasure in a valley called Dirks Run/Valley, near Keating Summit .Supposedly there is treasure buried somewhere in the valley. The person who was telling me about it said that they thought it was a pirate treasure, because when he and a friend put probes into the ground they pulled out broken bits of jewelry , necklaces , etcs .Sounds silly to me that there would be pirate treasure buried in the mountains of northern pa .Has anyone else ever heard of this legend??

Gods country girl, this may or may not help you. There is a [GT] named Keating on the w branch of the Susquehanna R. It is in Clinton Co. 12MI. SW of Renovo. It was a lumber town. Since it is near the river, this might be your Keating involved in pirate treasure. I could not locate a Dirks run at either location, but names change over time. Hope this helps.
