Wow 16 years of watching some of the best treasure hunters in the world. You have to admit this place is pretty legendary in knowledge and longevity.

As a newbie (coming up on 5 years), I'm just glad I found it when I did. Lots of great people (and some real characters too!) on here.
This site has helped me greatly, and I feel like you guys, and gals, are like real friends!
I have, in fact, met some good friends on here.
Here's to the next 30! (not that I'll be around to see it )

Congratulations are in order for everyone here concerned especially moderators that have deal with inmates of asylum. While to call it asylum might seem harsh but it is my pet name in gallows humor and I am well an truly a inmate of 20 years. Because some times their are crazy posts and times people post absolute gold and that in itself adds to the magic of forum. Its not an easy job to moderate and you are damned if you do! Damned if you don't. Over the years some passions have become over heated and moderators have unenviable task of defusing such conflicts with saints sinners and everything in between. If it was not for their efforts the forum would of imploded like many others years ago. So a big thumbs up to their efforts that helped keep the forum alive.

30 years is big deal in rapidly changing world where concepts can become obsolete in five to ten years or even quicker. So it is a real testament of longevity. So well done for moderators and everyone concerned. It was not for your participation here in the forums they would not exist. Amazing discoveries have taken place from wide diverse backgrounds not just from the USA but from all over the globe. Fortunes have been made from information exchanged here. Many of the whose who of treasure hunting world had posted here over the years. People would be surprised! Even a few archeologist read the forums in which is no bigger testament to the value of some of the posts here. There has over the years been people who have made fortunes from treasure hunting discreetly over the years beyond peoples wildest imagination. Many have passed on but their avatars linger on in silent memory of who they were.

Treaurenet is more than forum and source of information? But a place of kindred spirits and a institution that I hope never dies but continue to grow long after old Crows last squawk.

Still sorta remember when i first saw TN...
It had to be around 98ish when i began to sorta frequent it from time to time....
Had a friend who was a domain name register affiliate... he had lists of the "new" sites etc all the time.
(that might have been in 95-96-97 - ? )
I saw the word "treasure" and of course who wouldn't be drawn to check that out.
I lurked it for a few and moved on... then one day ran across it again... lurked from time to time.
wasn't until much later i began lurking it at least once a week.

One day... my 92 year old grandmother and i were having a conversation about her bridge club and various other clubs she belonged to and she makes the comment to me about how "i never joined any club"... how i was not a "member" of something.
I thought...... "ya know she is right"... and after her saying that echoed in my head for a bit...
I joined TNet.
So...
It was because of my Grandmother i became a member.

PS.... Early days i was a part of the UnderNet (and became an IRC Op).... but TN is the ONLY website forum of any kind i have ever joined... but hey i joined one... been happy about it and have not looked back or wanted to join any others.

I remember Dell Winders when I First signed up and a Couple Members always attacking him. they Didn't Like me

now Carl may have been here Longer then Me , He may be the Longest Acticve Full member .

Terry Was here at least 10 years Longer then he Thinks He's Been here at Least since 2020,

I Didn't research how long for Terry. But Long enough to Welcome someone else in 2020

Though I was in off & on since the Late '90's from Library & OP's Computers, Researching Minelabs , under my Real full Name. No real Email Address Needed Back then. as long as there was an @ it worked I think I Baught my Sovereign in '99.
was here on my own Computer Since 2003 , Became Moderator Almost simultaneously.
I remember Complaing to Marc via pm about Spam in what was then the Metal Detecting forum he got back to me & asked if I wanted to Be Moderator
he Hired WRECKDIVER for the Shipwreck forum & me For Everything.

He started his Own Forum &

I had my own Museum, Converted my Garage. But couldn't bring it here ,
And what i couldn't Ship with my Nephew, probably ended up being sold for scrap by the neighbor

Probably not place to post as it about celebrating 30 years, I will not post current members business. The there one I will post as he is no longer with us. But he posted here many years ago as Klaus. He quietly came and disappeared. He was involved in recovering sunken treasure in More than 1.5 tonnes of silver coins, gold jewellery, crystal, Chinese porcelain, cannon, muskets and 400 bottles of wine were recovered by the from the Forbes, a ship that ran aground between Borneo and Sumatra in 1806. I recall he made 10 million at from that shipwreck age 70.

He was good very good at what he did. He had searched for treasure first in 1950's Nazi treasure off Corsica and then traveled world to south America. He hunted shipwrecks in Caribbean. Then spent time in south America. Bolivia. there was property he wanted to search in Bolivia. His big break came in Indonesia. He was wealthy from his years of treasure hunting. He posted here at treasurenet for time.

He is one of many of the amazing people that has been on treasurenet over the years.

If I found millions in treasure the only way anyone would know was by the post cards from Tahiti...

Been metal detecting since I was about 10 (meaning 55 years), and have yet to find any
true, valuable treasure. No matter though, as IMO the true treasure here on TNet are the members
and staff.

If I live long enough, and life allows it, I'd love to get a motorhome and travel
around the US, meeting all the good people I've come to know here.
