Hi folks,

Sue here in the Bronx. I'm planning on attending also. Only problem is my partner was just diagnosed with throat cancer last week, so it's going to depend on what's happening with her then. I think I'll be able to make it though, if that changes I'll let you know. If she's feeling up to it, my partner will join us also. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

The last thread I started I asked for site locations and dates. Clove lakes came up as a spot that was equidistant to anyone from the tri-state area. Great history too, did you click on the link above?

I'm hoping we can get-together a couple times a year and this isn't just a one time thing. I can easily see doing this again in the fall at a different site.

I did some quick research on the history of the park and it became a public park in the 1930s so I don't think there's going to be coins from before 1900 in case some park visitors were still carrying post-1900 coins and lost them in the 1930s on. Silver coins from the 1930s are beautiful and I hope we all come away with a nice souvenir or two, or more! Starting to drool!

The site has great history, there were all kinds of people through this area waaayyyy back to the 1600's before it was a public park. Don't forget the jewelry too, there are a couple of baseball fields and a couple of playgrounds as well, open fields where people run, throw, jump and lose goodies. I can't wait, I have a good feeling about this spot.

Yeah, I read that part of the park's history. But you must know that when wild land is turned into a public park, using Central Park as an example, it goes through changes from removing growth to grading the ground, bringing in soil from other locations, etc. If the park (all parks) would have been left in its natural state with some of the dwellings left standing as an attraction THEN you could say that the chances of finding hidden caches, if the people had the money in the first place, is better. But as you say, baseball fields, playgrounds and open fields should provide lost goodies and we'll be there to find them!

I thought Ricardo, Ezrider and myself were all part of the bronx regiment.

I think I may fall in Joe and Tom's regime, but having been born and raised in the Bronx, and living there for 30 years, a double allegiance will have to do the trick.........and should prevent any backlash from the LI boys.

My Brother-In Law has a business here in NYC and can do us a favor by having his supplier make a custom run of these 1-of-a-kind caps and tee shirts for us, the prices are HIS cost and nobody is making money on this.
The caps are going to be about 5 or 6 bucks each and are 1 size fits all adjustable. The tee shirts run true-to-size and come in whatever size you tell me and will be 6 or 7 bucks, they may be a little more for 2X, 3X etc.

THE COLOR OF THE HATS AND SHIRTS WILL BE NAVY BLUE, DARKER THAN WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICS.

Let me know how many of each and what size on the tee shirts asap as the order will have to be placed in the next 3-5 days. You can post your order here or in a pm to me. I will bring them to the get-together and you can pay me there. Can't wait to meet you all.

I'll Be there Glenn. This park has produced old coins. i recommend small coils for this park there is alot of pull tabs and bottle caps. Definitely bring your permit if you don't have one you can fax your drivers licence to them and if you do it early in the morning they will put it in the mail that day.

Too bad about that, Glenn. It was a good try and the design looked really nice. Thanks for the effort, I appreciate it.

On another note, I see suggestions in the forum for "official" TNET tee shirts, caps, etc., and I'm not crazy about the designs shown. It seems whoever did the cap and tee shirt should be considered for TNET merchandise.
