trigger guard id

found this trigger guard at a cw camp. not sure if it was left later by hunters/ect. looking for the type of rifle it belongs to if anyone can help
 
heres another angle, appears to be made from brass and has broken at the end

I can't quite make out what it is. It doesn't say trigger guard to me though at first glance. Put it against a dark background and it will photograph clearer. White is about the worse thing you can use as a background. I'll try again, OK? Monty.

That's better! I can see how it resembles a trigger guard, but it just looks like something is not right about it. May be , but I really can't say one way or the other. Sorry. Monty

Looks like a Enfield rifle TG to me. Front is bent down. Note the hole for a sling swivel... = military.

The curves are a little unique and reminded me of a tg to an old savage like this one. But even for a broken tg, the hole isn't right and I'm with Monty that's something's peculiar. But it does look like a trigger guard to me.

So, it's military, it's brass... fine, but it has a screw hole. :icon_scratch:

I was thinking 1841 rifle, but the screw is not right.
