I found this coin , on a site I thought I had hunted out,
was stuck for a place to go yesterday

went over an area with 6" coil on equinox very slowly , and a sketchy but solid signal, got similar signals for bent hammered nails, you know how the equinox is
god job I dig everything sweet

any idea on cleaning to remove some of the build up, dosnt have tobe perfect, I tried hat water and soap?

Congratulations on sniffing out that trime. They are so small and so hard ti find under favorable conditions. Given tht yours was in an area filled with nails says a lot about your patience.
Regarding ideas for cleaning it up...

You could try the baking soda trick- Put 1 tablespoon of baking soda into 1 cup of boiling water and stir. Take a small glass bowl and line in with tin foil ( shiny side up). Place the coin in the bowl and pour in water/ baking soda fixture so that it completely covers the coin. Let it sit for 10 minutes. After soaking, remove the coin and gently dab it with a moist Q-tip. The dirt / grime on the coin should come off easily. You can repeat the process if necessary. When complete , rinse the coin with plain water and dry. Hope this helps!

Will have to give this method a try.
Done hammered silver using the tinfoil and spit method.
Nothing like a rotten egg smell in the room smell, :tongue3:

Congratulations on the Trime recovery
Lots of details under the little bit of crud.
Best of luck on the clean up, as not many are found with such crispness,

Congtats on your tiny little find. Those little 3 cent pieces are difficult to find. As for as conserving goes I use coin care

Very nice coin. As long as you don't mind cleaning it, I would use baking soda. You can lightly rub the coin with baking soda and water.
