TRIP #2 COLONIAL CELLAR HOLE-CAST IRON TOY HORSE & PLOW

ME AND LITTLE DIGGER BACK AT THE CELLAR HOLE THATS WAY OFF THE BEATEN PATH, BY OUR FINDS SO FAR IM GUESSING IT WAS USED BETWEEN 1790 TO MAYBE 1890---I HAVENT HAD A CHANCE TO DATE THE CAST IRON HORSE, MAN & PLOW YET, UNREAL IT STILL INTACT, AS YOU CAN SEE IT WAS ABOUT 16 INCHES DEEP !!--------------------------- -- PICS ARE BEFORE ANY CLEANING---GOTTA BE 1 OF MY FAVORITE FINDS IN 40 YRS OF DIGGING--GOTTA LOVE THE OLD STONE WALLS TO --ENJOY !

Did you clean it up and find out what year? I just found this horse in Raleigh, NC amongst some broken penny dolls and marbles. Cleaning it up with electrolysis.

That's actually in great shape. Most times those iron toys are so rusted you can't see good details...and these types of finds are always awesome.

I can see why it is one of your favorites, That IS an awesome find.
Old toy finds are very rare to dig. I love it, and it would be my favorite too.
Yes as mentioned it's not badly corroded.

Love that piece! You're experienced, what method do you prefer for cleaning/removing rust? Ever used apple cider vinegar? If I'd found that piece, that is the method I'd use on this. Nice find!!
