first turn on the am radio tune it to the high end of the scale (but not on a station though) crank up the volume listen to the static hiss -- then -- turn on the calculator place them back to back--shift them around till you hear a tone like noise -- tape the calcultor .radio together then keeping the tone spot together as you do so -- as you approach metal with it will make a noticible beeping type noise -- congrats on your "home made" metal detector --- Ivan
