Trying to locate a new site.... Nice axe!!

I have been try to find some new spots to hunt. I been checking out a few spots that had revolutionary war activity. No luck so far. I did manage to find a nice axe head. I'm not sure if its old , there was a modern nail where the handle went through. I know that doesn't mean much though. I also found a 1920 wheat cent , a plain brass button , and a load of shotgun shells.

That is a nice head.
Not looking R.W. period ,but don't let that discourage you.
Hard to find quality steel American axes being made today. Those that are top shelf cost serious coin.
Makes the older ones worth more to me for sure....And to some others as well still.

Should you get a date/ maker on yours and not keep it as a relic , a little work could produce a fine axe.
A fine axe in ones possession once a highly valued asset by the majority of folks for much of history ,till quite lately.

I have found quite a few lately that is by far the best and good steel. When I get the means to do electrolysis I will clean it up. It was probably from the farm where I was at. I found it between two stone walls that look like a right of way. There is stone walls all over the woods I was at.
