I'm under the impression that a plastic tube, with a steel tie and lead seal, housing some gold-looking coins
is probably the real deal. Peering through translucent plastic, I see what appears to be 100 Corona Austrian gold coins,
ten of them.

Does it have to be disassembled to be purchased? If so, why do I have it in this condition?

Auction prices suggest to me that the value of the tube is ~$20,000, but I could be off by fifty cents.

These days in my opinion Tuff call.

Probably real

But unless you can weigh the Tube
& at least confirm the right weight

there is always the chance of counterfeit.

Jeff, you da man.
I took another look.
My bad. 20 gold coins, not 10.
So solly.

Man is that sucker heavy! You gotta be right. 20 x .9802 ounces is just over a pound.
Will such a group sell at discount or premium?
