don't use river sand or rock, it'll take forever, if you use sand blasting sand it'll clean a lot faster

I was told not to use sand because it removes too much detail.........I guess that would be okay for clad or zinc. I use aquarium gravel in mine.

Hey Don, I use plain colored aquarium gravel with dish washing liquid and a splash of ammonia. Heed Jeff's warning.....don't mix copper and clad, the clad takes on the copper color. I have a single barrel Harbor Freight tumbler and I usually let it run from 2 to 4 hours depending on the amount of coins I throw in. Some guys say they change the water half way through but I just let it run and dump it at the end.

Good luck!!

aquarium gravel, tablespoon dawn, tablespoon citric acid works great for me. If they're not really crusty I just use a tablespoon of Dawn.
If you're a joker like me chuck a few pennies in with the quarters ::) The looks on the grocery store clerks faces are priceless ;D ;D
