Hey guys, been snowy here so i started to do some bill hunting. I went to the bank and got 50 dollars worth of dollar bills and ran across this one. I have it listed on ebay now and its at 17.70. I never thought i could make money on a dollar bill but the low serial number is awesome. Im gonna have to start watching my bills closer for star notes and low or funky serial numbers. ::)

That's a great idea! I never thought of doing that. I'm going to start looking more closely at the dollar bills I have. Thanks for sharing that information! :icon_thumright:

Learned something again....I had no idea that a low serial number would be worth anything. But, what is a "star note" and a "radar note?"

a star not is a note that has a star on it and a radar note is when the serial number is the same forward as it is backward ;D

Not neccesarally low numbers but also "strings'. i.e.: K 77777777 G etc.

Now I'm wondering, what makes the "star" special? :dontknow:

Nothing really special about the Star Notes. They are notes that were remade because the original was trashed, misprinted etc.. So they replaced that one with a Star Note. So not really worth any more than face value. Hope that helps. jgas

There are a lot of star notes in circulation, but that doesn't mean that people won't pay for them.

I found a super nice crisp star note, and asked about its value on another forum. Everyone said it wasn't worth listing on ebay...but it still sold for $12.
