Two bands.

Out for a short hunt today on a park which lies in a community that dates to 1600's. The park is always good for our 2$ coins. Got two bands one which I think is a wedding band. Kinda neat has an inscription of 16 or 18 inside could it be the year?.

Yes, it's an interesting place. Unfortunately the oldest parts are all redeveloped and under the town. That said I do know of a 1604 Irish half penny coming to light in this area.

Congrats on your two bands. If we had parks around here that dated to the 1600's I'd be pitching a tent there, and detecting daily !

Both very cool rings. I found a silver wave ring very similar to yours last year. (Very narly dude )
That wedding band looks old for sure.

Nice finds! In looking at your pictures, it looks like an 18 which I would believe would indicate that you found yourself an 18k ring

If only! Lol. I am 100% on the ring not being gold. I did some research on brass Wedding bands and what I found was that it was common practice to make them out of brass in the 1800's and the year of the marriage was often marked inside. Sooo come to your own conclusions but I am comfortable with it being 1818. However the silver band is very modern... Cheers

The park is relatively new. But the area has been settled since the French first stayed in Canada.
