Two Large cent's,silver and gold?!!

My brother and I went to the college this morning for a couple hours. I found the barber dime and the two Indians and a few wheats. Also the little pendant with the green stone was right next to (three inches away) one of the Indian's.
We went back after some time with the family and the E-trac was singing like a bird! Two large cent's an 1856 and a 53,the 53 is toasted pretty bad. A 52 Roosevelt, the old key,the bell (not sure what it's made of,don't think it's silver though) the plated heart, and the gold? cuff link. It's not marked, but it sure looks like gold. The cuff link was at least 8" down.
Don found the "WP" pin, the little silver engraved thing, not sure what it was. Also what I think is a button, made of lead though???
Was a great hunt!
E-trac rocks!!
HH, Steve

If that college teaches Coin Finding I and II, I'd like to enroll ;D

Nice job, that place must have some history to find oldies like those.

Nat

ALERT!

The *silver engraved thing* was maybe a old coin made into a friendship or love token......have him have a good look at it for coin markings. If you see any markings it is more than likely a seated dime or quarter.

Jack,
Welcome to Wisconsin!
I think the "H" and the ring around it are gold. The back plate is plated.

Hey Nat,
It has some history, started in the 1850's. I keep forgetting to take my camera with, maybe next time.

That's the first thing I thought when he showed it to me. It is silver, and I looked at it with a loupe and could see no markings. It is very small and thin, you can also see where there was an attachment on the back. Made out of a 3 center maybe?
Thanks for your comments everyone.

Great mix of finds there. I like finding the other things almost as much as the old silver. Thanks for posting!
