Where is the human work to "make" it and where is any use-wear is on that piece? How would it ever be used in any fashion? Try it. Best feedback I could give you is to look for those things, IMHOP.

I agree with Tomclark it's just natural and Welcome to Tnet:hello:HH

It is really a shame that we cant touch and feell the items that are shown. I will re photograph it and show the depth of it if I can. I know it is a tool! at first glance I thought it was a spoon. and I can see a new born baby bird effigy in it!

Now you gone and done it, said the "E" word, LOL.

You might be able to see it, and that's nice and all, but these are what true (rare) (did I mention rare?) effigies look like. They are works of art made w/ exquisite skill: Enjoy! Amazing Pipes and amazing Birdstones!

RockinIdaho, welcome to the board. Unfortunately everyone is telling you the truth. It may be hard to accept but your piece is not an artifact and definitely not an Effigy of any kind. It is a naturally worn stone and nothing else.

How long have to been looking for artifacts Idaho?

Well ever since I was little I would have some kind of rick in my pocket. But actively about ten years. I started when a buddy of mine in Kettle Falls, Wa bought a great piece of property not too far off the Columbia River, I really wish I could find a great shiny and pretty point. I seem to only find remnants and rocks. and mostly just tools.
I am going to go through a couple of buckets of rocks and reassess, tool or no. I will be posting some photos so I can get feed back. I will also post the location of where I found them,

Rock, Stone Tools are usually fairly easy to spot and determine because of peck marks or Blade edges. Some stones me look just like an Axe or a Tool of some kind but show no evidence of ever being worked on or altered by man.

Here are some pictures of actual Stone Tools.

These are Hammerstones, Pitted Stones, Metates, Axes, Pestles, etc. You can see the obvious work done to these stones to make them Tools.

Thanks, I will keep my eye to ground like always.

GR that is an amazing collection of tools--and the fossil is awesome as well! That would have been huge!
