Always cool to find buttons. That lock is standing out. Was a really good day.

Definitely a good day for me... The lock is nice but finding artillery and musicians buttons from 1835-1842 a stones throw from the fort that was the namesake of the city and burned down the year after the conflict..to me ...a local is much better

Very cool! I'm thinking I know right were you were ;) I'm actually moving out that way next month. Trading in my Tiger Shark for an AT Pro...at least until the next storm!! I've started to do a ton of research on the area and the locations of all the old forts and settlements along the river. I'm sure it's been dug to death but ya never know! Anyway good finds as always GB!

I was on a private lot with permission granted to be there and detect by the owner.
I'll give a little clue... there were wagon trails headed to the north from that fort... it was very nice to see the documents proven correct.
Thanks and good luck to you.

Nice! Yeah some of the research is inconclusive on several forts/settlements in the mid to lower river region, which should be a lot of fun trying to figure out. That whole area was primarily used for cattle which were traded to the Spanish down in the harbor. I'm hoping to come across some Spanish coins in the area as well. Do u think the AT Pro is the best detector for dirt/river hunting? I saw you're using one. It's either that or the Tejon...not sure which will work best??

For me..it's the AT.. I take it everywhere rain or shine..put on a pair of gray ghost phones and hop in the water when I'm in a good place for that...ect.. I like to travel light and think it's worth a lot to get very used to a machine.. So for me it's like..at the end of the day..the Indian makes the kill not the arrow... The guy with the best hammer isn't automatically the best carpenter.. Ect..
