two piece buckle

[antman]

Anyone seen this variety of buckle before and have any info on it? Found both pieces of the buckle first and then the belt hardware that I believe to be from the belt.

Looks like a circa 1910-1920 Garrison Plate for officers. It was worn on a web belt, so those pieces probably were part of the rig.

If you click here: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6340 you will be able to see the entire rig and all the parts and pieces.

Plenty of history in the ground around Front Royal. I spent a long weekend hunting in the Bentonville area last spring.

May be going back again in the fall.
