Those are my two biggest questions and the two Achille's heels (IMO) of the Deus. How well does the Nox do at letting you know when you've got one of those?

So far I am very impressed with it on bottle caps and flat iron junk , all detectors I have owned have been troublesome with these. The one test I messed around with today on both of those I tried the trick ( I think maybe TNSS might have originally posted on) was switching quickly to 5 or 10 khz and seeing the numbers go up , it really works great i dug stuff that went up just to test and everytime the vdi started jumping up it was trash, and when it stayed mostly stable it was a nickel , I think this will work great with gold too. I havent yet been in the areas with square nails with it, but I have been haveing the round nails jump into the higher vdi so much that i have dug quite a few thinking they might be good so this is something I am going to have to learn with this machine. every time I did dig one though my after thought was yeah that just didnt sound quite right but good enough to dig . Oh and this was mostly using field 2 basic set up , the iron bias does seem to help a little.

Very good post. And not because you mentioned me either.
