A buddy and myself went detecting after work today for about an hour. He found an 1827 large cent at this same place. Found a 1941 half dollar and a 1941 mercury dime in the same hole. This is the second half dollar I've found in the past year so I'm pretty excited! Not a bad day for an hour hunt! Thanks for looking.

Yes sir that's the way I like to do it. It seems when I go on all day hunts I find very little, but when I have limited time I do my best! Thanks for the comment!

Wow six mercs in one hole! Thats amazing. I found three mercs once in about a four foot area. Out of all the silver I have found, I have more mercs then anything with the majority coming from the 1940s. Wonder if this is common everywhere or just my area? Thanks for the comment park pirate!

Interesting that you say that. I've only been at this for a few months and I've only found three silvers, all mercs 1942-1943 and from different sites.

Last year I found 23 silver coins. 12 of them were mercs. Only three were not in the 1940s. I don't know if it had something to do with the war era or what. I now have 13 mercs and only two Roosevelt silver dimes. I thought I would find more Roosevelts then mercs.
