Last week I was traveling for 3 days in Western Ontario and made stops at two parks along the way for a total of 4 hours of detecting.
I wish the finds were more impressive, but it beats working for a living any day! :laughing7:

On the first day, I found the 1961 CDN Quarter, the brass bell and the unusual brass 'horseshoe shaped whatsit' chain.

The next day I headed to another park across the street and I found the 1968 silver dime.
As I already mentioned... finds bad, but silver good!:dontknow:

The little girl with the black hair in the last picture is our Havanese Lilly.

Thanks for looking,
Dave

Nice digs and wow that place you're digging is beautiful. Is it just me or is Canadian silver shinier? Lol. Cheers for taking a day off

I usually just go on a feeling as I'm driving through these small Ontario towns.
Some hunches produce and some don't. :laughing7:

Best of luck to you buddy,

Thanks for your post Steve.
I don't know about Canadian silver being shinier, here's a
'61 Rosie I found a couple of weeks back and it looked pretty darn shiny to me! :laughing7:
The silver content of the '61 quarter is .800 and the '68 dime is .500.

Congrats on the silver Dave, I'm still wondering what the brass chain thingy is? Like I said in the text that I had dug one of these chain link pieces without the horseshoe part connection and I thought it might be part of a belt now you discounted that idea with digging up the connector. I'm wondering if it's some fancy horse tack of some sorts?

Thanks for your suggestion about the mystery brass piece, I might just have to post it in the Whatsit Forum. :icon_scratch:
It almost seems too crudely constructed and flimsy to be horse related. :dontknow:

That's what I first thought also then I thought it was a belt, but yours threw that idea out the window. I have looked for mine but it's buried under something, but I think it was around a foot long or more.
