Wow so this weekend with the weather being warmer tinman86 and myself decide to leave Illinois and head south a bit towards thawed ground. Six hours of hunting in and only find to mention was a 1905 ih found by tinman68. As the sun was setting and the day was ending Boom! I pull my first spanish silver and first 1700s coin! 1784 two reale and not 10 min later tin scores his first Spanish silver and 1700s also. His was a 1795 half reale! Killer hunt!!! For what its worth we were detecting in Indiana.

Those are beauties! Congrats on the great silvers.

If they're in Indiana... They have to be everywhere right?!? Where's mine?!? Congrats[emoji4]

WOW!!!! Wish we had that kinda luck on the way back out rigs!!! Congrats on the finds!!!!:icon_thumright:

Thanks for all the positive comments. At fist I thought it was a modern aluminum token because the it was so thin. Also I was picking up bits of aluminum foil from modern campers. Awesome hunt!

Lol! Reminds me of a commercial that was air here in Chicago area few years ago. It was advertising Indiana Beach and the song went something like..." There's more then cooorrnnn in Indianaa". Keep at it Reels they are there.

Hay I have always figured a lot of Spanish silver was used till about 1840s in the U.S.
Congrats on the double Spanish day. Twice I have dug Spanish silver on back to back signals. And you're right, those coins were commonly used through the first half of the 19th century.

Very nice. There have been a few Spanish silvers pulled from Indiana ground in the last few months.

Awesome Spanish first! And 1700's to boot! Congratulations! I've found two half reales here in Indiana recently. Both 1800's. I think I like your 1700's 2 reale better though! I think I'd freak if I found one that large. It is a good feeling being in the Spanish Club though! Congratz! I also read that they were commonly used until the mid 1800's as well. Its nice to see coins like that come out of Indiana though. I hope there's a lot more to be found here. Awesome, Awesome find!!!! Congratz again!

Great job Helix!!!! Quite a feeling isn't it. That's a big one to knock off the list
. yeah you guys out east are lucky I live in the Midwest. Lol! All in good fun.
