It just blows my mind that at the turn 'o the century dogs actually had to have tags, we were that civilized a hundred years ago?

Hey Slippery, If you do put it on the bay make sure you use the words "dog tax tag" in the description. That makes it easier for the people looking for em. Jim

Thanks for the tip Jim! It goes on tomarrow I think. I should be getting my explorer next week as I sold my X70 today on here. I called the guy with the Explorer and he said he would hold it for me till I recieved payment so it looks like a go for me!!!!!!!!!!! I am allready planning on a hunt for you and I so we can get me going on this wonder machine! lol

Thanks again

I hope your tag is a rare one and goes for a couple hundred that would be cool.

Can't believe your really getting one. Thats great. Is it an Explorer 2 or the newer one. If its a newer one I have not seen em but hope they can be set up like the exp. 2s. I'll try and help you either way. Can't wait. I know there are some more goodies to be had at the masonic place. You can rehunt some of your spots you have already detected at after you learn the thing a bit and you'll clean up some more finds, I just know it. Fun stuff. Jim

Jim

I am like a kid at Christmas time! I've already sold my machine and will pick up the Explorer 2 next Friday after work. I have been told by many guys who have them the same thing you said that I'll be able to go over old spots and find more stuff so I am looking forward to that! The one I am getting is a couple of months old is all so its like new, hope it provides me with some great finds as well as my other Minelab did

Thats great Jack! Getting used to the different sound the thing makes takes a few times out. Once ya learn what the coins sound like your all set. I forgot you have all those guys in your club to help ya out with the learning curve and set up. If ya ever want to ask me anything or need any help at all just shoot me an e-mail.
Quite a few guys do not detect in conductive sound like I do. To each his own. A lot also detect in all metal/ having iron mask set wide open at -16. I always detect at -10. Plus I rarely set my sesnitivity above 22. When I first got the explorer I always ran it at 27. The explorer is very powerful and I noticed that with the sens. set around 17-19 works great for me. You'll hear all sorts of different settings and so on you will just have to sift through them all and find what works best for you. One setting I know for sure to set is Gain at 7. I think you made the right decision on buying that explorer. With time you will go back to sites year after year and still find coins just because you learn the detector each year. Fun times ahead. Jim
