Given where I found this, I suspect it's an original WW2 fly button rather than a new reproduction (that look either plastic or plastic coated). That gives me some idea anyway. Thanks Mud Hut! I found this in the same general area.

Look at the link and photos I posted, that's an original WWII garment with original buttons, those buttons weren't just used on flys.
