Hello everyone,

It's been quite some time since I've last posted. Up until a few days ago site after site has led to nothing but disappointment. However a buddy of mine got permission to detect a piece of property owned by his friend and invited me along and boy am I glad he did!

On my way him he called me and was practically squealing with excitement. He had gotten to the site ahead of me and already found several coppers. Upon my arrival I met up with him around a rocky ledge on a hillside which was absolutely loaded with coppers!

Between the two of us on the first day we found over 70! The coppers were around the rocks and in between the rocks deep inside the cracks. We have been trying to come up with the theory as to how this may have happened and we think possibly there was once a cave of sorts that collapsed on a cache that pushed all the coppers out.

We have found several varieties. I found 36 coppers which blows my record of ten coppers in one day out of the water! I got several George II (one cast counterfeit?) George the Thirds, an Irish half penny, a machin Mills I believe, a strange George the first( counterfeit?), 2 William the Third(I think) a Connecticut copper, 3 Vermont coppers, 3 New Jersey coppers , and three fugios which I have never found before, and a Massachusetts copper!

We have been back twice and I have more to post including another first for me which I will follow up with in the next couple days. In the meantime we will continue to excavate the site with the hopes of possibly hitting the motherload if we haven't already!

Thanks for looking and happy Hunting everyone!

A lifetime of coppers in one hunt! The Fugios are incredible, but the Mass state coin is really sweet and the shaped NJ is super cool. Huge congrats!!

Wow!!!! Awesome!!! Killer Hunt!!! Congrats!!!! Banner!!

post your buddies coins too!

Man this is a hard to beat day of hunting - if you were hunting with a rifle it would be like shooting the Big 5 in one day!!!! Awesome, unbelievable, outstanding, wonderful.........I have nomore words for this hunt.....Banner all day

Holy cow that had to be one of the best hunts I have ever seen posted. Well done!!!

Holy crap! Banner! There are some amazing ones in there! Vermonts, NJ, Fugios! Just woow!!!

Can you post all together the coppers you both found? How many in total now?

Great job !! Congrats. Can I ask? Did they come out looking like that or did you clean them ?

WHAT!?! This is a banner in my opinion! I can't believe what you found... state coppers and fugios... dozens of colonial coins in one day. Any one of those coins would be the highlight of the season for me (haven't made it into the 1700s club yet)!!

I can only imagine how happy you were to find the first one... then another... then another.

Truy remarkable!! My banner vote is in.

Yea thats banneriffic! Don't post all the gold bars when you find them or we'll never recover. Check the top area next and then get the backhoe! Wow thats pretty remarkable there. It makes all those beat permissions worth the time.

this is very suspicious...there must be something else going on at that site, go back and expand the search. there is more to find...i am thinking more than just coppers too. it is just too unusual...you can't be done

Wow. The Mass copper is bannerworthy by itself. Dont see those often. Awesome digs

Your post deserves a banner just for the photos. So I have nominated!

Very nicely done!

That is really great. Be sure to take some pics of the cracks you are hunting. I am curious also how they got into the rocky cracks. That is crazy fun and get some more. I bet you find them with a pinpointer in the rocks. Fun for sure.

Unbelievable is right, there's so many there that would make the banner just on their own. I can't even imagine how exciting each signal must have been! 3 Fugios? Damn. And the Mass and NJ coppers are stunning. Congratulations on a real treasure

Holy Moly wowza thats a Banner day in my book my town founded in 1826 no a single copper in the land around here. Im very happy for you thats an amazing hunt. Thanks for sharing all your great Coppers Well done Tommy

What a fantastic haul! It is hard to say which one is my favorite since there are so many varieties. I sure hope you guys get back there soon and find more! Congratulations!

Steve
