The subject has come up on a regular basis on sand scoops. I was cleaning out a box of old photos and came across my photos of two sand scoops I build out of 3/4" EMT conduit pipe and a galvanized grain scoop back in the 1980's. I remember that they lasted about 8 years in saltwater hunting before I bought my Big Brute scoop. Some of you don't have it in your budget to shell out a couple hundred $$ for a stainless scoop. Take a look at the photos and build your own galvanized scoop. I drilled 1/2" holes in the scoop and it sifted sand and clay just like the expensive scoops. Good Luck!
