Tricky advertisers. I bet they mean the depth of your 2 feet in the media upon which you are walking. So, any metallic items that you actually step on would be detected. :D

That's what I need for detecting the Kennesaw Mountain National Park battlefield up the road from me. Bet it would detect a Hotchkiss shell at 2 feet....
