A couple of years back My wife and I decided to
go on a pilgrimage of sorts...

We decided to trace the origins of many of the coins we
have been recovering from the Jupiter Shipwreck over the

It is great to see the types of tools used to strike the planchetes, and the planchete anchoring base. The hammers have a curved eyehole at the end of their iron handle, and this reminds me of a chasing hammer grip, and may have been held like this to do the final detail strike. Thanks for the pictures.
 
What was most memorable to me was
showing the miners in the mountain the encrusted
silver coins from Potosi re-encased in a form of
rock from the sea :occasion14:
