I have had an sss side scan for over 10 year and it works fine, used it for pipline surveys. I cannot compare it to the Kline or any other unit but it has always worked fine for me.

As for Sea lion ROV I have never used one but with ROV's it is the conditions around the operation (tide, current visibility)that matter and also a good pilot. Also at 1000ft operational depth a good sector scan sonar is required to find the object. The umbilical will be significantly longer than the 1000 ft and will cause huge drag for the unit. The deeper it gets the harder the work for the unit and the handlers.

Going deep go bigger if you want to do anything other then have a quick look.

Thank you for the info. I think I will go with the Fishers unit at this stage.
Thanks again.
