And you keep pushing more pirates on our side. 8-) You're destroying the very cultural heritage you claim to be protecting. Poor logic, Alexandre. Poor logic, indeed.

Well the first sentence shows how the people with this line of thought make things up to fulfill their agenda.

"The largest museum in the world rests under the water, beneath the oceans, lakes and rivers of every nation and on the high seas."

Museum | Definition of Museum by Merriam-Webster

Simple Definition of museum
: a building in which interesting and valuable things (such as paintings and sculptures or scientific or historical objects) are collected and shown to the public

Full Definition of museum : an institution devoted to the procurement, care, study, and display of objects of lasting interest or value; also : a place where objects are exhibited

How many years of education does it take to understand the definition of "museum"?

Ya know what dude?...I can't even form a civil response to your agenda...I'd be banned for life. I truly believe in Karma..

The only thing our UCH need protecting from is the un-democratic, self elected, in experienced heritage managers who believe the UNESCO treaty is the way forward.

If they had an ounce of common sense between them they would see they are achieving nothing other than killing their own discipline, whilst looting and un-reported recovery goes on all around them.

They have alienated all of us instead if embracing us, as we are the very ones with the passion and knowledge of what's going on in the real world to protect the really important UCH.

Great to see an Englishman heading a team to record a Portuguese wreck, http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...vasco-da-gama-age-of-exploration-india-route/ surprised you were not on the team Alexandre or were you too busy trying to stop someone else ?

You're exactly right VOC. I have talked with the Jamaican fishermen (looters) and they LOVE the UNESCO treaty. They say yes, leave the wrecks "in situ" so we can continue looting them rather than have commercial salvage companies recover the UCH in a legal manner and record everything.

Yep, it's happening the world over.

Nature is having the material every day and once a wreck is located it becomes at risk and if nobody is doing anything with it the looters will eventually target it.

And if the ideologist think they will get government 24/7 protection they should seek some consultation from the enforcement agencies to see their success rate with drugs, arms and people trafficking with the billions that has been spent trying to control that.

The trouble with ideologist is that they live in a world of LaLa Land "make believe", and think that if you pass a law to stop something it stops.

Save America
What is more interesting?

Take a picture, video, record data, bring the artifacts up and enjoy them
In Situ thinking is from puppet unprofessional, untrained archaeologist that do not have the experience to be making statements or decisions, there is no argument here, Unesco is just wrong and a bully, GME knows first hand what at least part of UNESCO is about, with there dirty underhanded dealings, I am proud to say we beat them just recently, at least this time even with all their power and there dishonest tactics. This includes all RPA archaeologist also.

Any one that believes in UNESCO at least on the artifact side in the water has ethical and moral issues, just that simple.

Please save America VOTE for Trump

You mean David Mearns, the alleged salvor of the SS John Barry and the General Abbatucci?

He is American, is no archaeologist and he has no wreck, just an anchorsite. :) Besides, he thinks I have too big of an ego and the only time we had coffee together he went out in a storm.

But, yes, he could benefit from learning Portuguese. I could never understand how you can be a good treasure hunter but are unable to read Portuguese and Spanish...

Oh, and he was with us at the UNESCO meeting and he defended a ban on all salvage ships engaged in TH..

"Try that in France"

There is plenty of wreck looting in France.

They have tight controls but goes nowhere near stopping it.
