Went back to where I found my spill of colonial coppers to dig a trash pit. It only produced two broken bottles. So detected in a small field where I got a kg last time there and got a mixes signal. There's lots of iron coming up the same way but dug it anyway. When I seen the silver was thinking 1700s. But unfortunately it was a walking liberty 1924. It's a first for me so I'll take it. This site has produced 20 1700s coppers and 8 or so 1880s indians. So wasn't expecting something this new. But shows there may be some old silver there. Just not coming up as a good signal. Did get 2 buckles and 3 toe taps. Happy hunting and merry christmas. I may get back out tomorrow.

Standing Libery quarter.

“Unfortunately”

Ouch.

lol, its not that bad. its growing on me.

Gorgeous find but looks like your shovel got really really close to it. Be careful ...some coins you unearth can be worth hundreds of dollars if they are not scratched and only scrap silver if they are..

But you knew that I’m sure.

Thanx for sharing

Yes Sir, she was too tired to walk...lol

It’s a killer coin, but I’ll just be quiet. One of my favorites. Man...

Simply put any standing quarter is a great find, but one before 1925 with a date showing is outstanding. I have only found 4 of those before 1925.

Nice SLQ! They don't pop out to often. Congrats!!
