i found this today at a 1899 house that i found 4 ww1 buttons last year.

It's a branch insignia disk worn on the lapel. More likely WW I like your buttons. Definitely not Civil War.

ok i found it now.the U.S. means regular us officer.do these have any value?

The U.S. doesn't mean officer. The U.S. is worn on the right lapel denoting branch (Army) and on the left lapel a disk is worn denoting specialty. I wore a crossed rifles disk in the early 80's as an Infantryman. I don't know if they still use them though. I would think they have little to no monetary value, but to a true collector and digger...priceless!
